S. Suzuki

I first met S. Suzuki on Twitter (aka @to_paraphrase). We chatted here and there and I would always drool over her picture posts of her current sketches and artwork. Last October she got in contact with me directly when she heard about the benefit show I was working on for Devil Doll and DickDime- she wanted to donate a piece of artwork for the raffle. When I laid my eyes on that painting- my heart melted, and I was in LOVE.

For Christmas we decided to do a trade. Today we met up to do the exchange. I am still in awe of her artwork. The picture posted above is what she painted for me. Her attention for detail is fantastic. The colors are amazing together. Sadly my picture DOES NOT do the painting is absolutely phenomenal in person. This is a piece that I will truly cherish for life.

Thanks Summer!!!!

Please, please, PLEASE check out her shop here.

Also come hang out with us on twitter!

HotRod Ho-Down

HeartSizedCrush was lucky enough to be able to set up a booth at the 4th annual HotRod Ho-Down this year in Colorado Springs put on by SouthSide Johnny's. This is an amazing benefit to send care packages for soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afganiston. This hit home for me since my son's father did a 14 month tour in Iraq with the Army. We had a great time at the show. Great food, awesome music, amazing crowd, super hot cars.

Thanks Herbie & Johnny!!

I have a HeartSizedCrush...

It's no secret that I have a HeartSizedCrush on Colleen Duffy of Devil Doll. The first time I popped that CD in that a friend gave to me and the sweet sultry voice of Colleen came on singing the tune St. Christopher, I fell head over heels in love. Her music spoke to me in depths and I could feel it in my bones. Her lyrics are easily relatable, and empowering, and make you want to kick some serious ass.

It came as a complete shock to me when last September I recieved a message on Etsy from Colleen herself. The first time we spoke, I was in complete awe that I was speaking to the Devil Doll herself and felt like a star struck bubbling idiot, lol. She is the most down to earth gal ever and so easy to talk to.

A short time later, Colleen asked if I could make her some Devil-Doll necklaces to add to her merch for shows and online. I know it sounds silly, but I feel like if I did nothing else in life, I was a success, because I had the opportunity to make jewelry for my all time, hands down favorite band ever. In December Devil-Doll made their rounds for a show in Denver. I got to meet her and chat, take pics, gets an autograph- the works. It was an amazing night to say the least.

If you have not yet had the chance to check out the musical stylings of Devil Doll, be sure to check her out at and while you're there- check out the merch section where the Devil-Doll necklace is now available for purchase!!!

Rebelle By Tootsies

I had the pleasure of meeting Roxy, the owner of Rebelle By Tootsies Salon, at one of the Rocky Mountain Roller Girls derby bouts that I vend at. We exchanged information as she was interested in carrying my jewelry at her salon! The first time I stepped inside the shop I was in love! It's the cutest salon ever, pink walls, great photography on the walls and a cute little botique in the back with clothing, bags, & accessories.

Roxy is one of the sweetest people I have ever met, and I am so excited that you can now get hooked up with a HeartSizedCrush piece after getting a 5 star rated treatment at the salon!

A friend and I also attented a fashion show they were putting on at the end of July. This was my first fashion show experience, and I had SO much fun! It was an awesome time, I will definately be going to every fashion show these girls put on!

Thanks Roxy!!!

Ol Skool Rodz

I was extremely pleased to find out from my pal Emily of Dismantled Fashions, that one of the necklaces I made for Colleen Duffy (of Devil Doll) tour was on the cover of Ol' Skool Rodz magazine last month. The necklace was modeled by none other then Angela Ryan herself. I had to run out and buy as many copies as I could!

Stay tuned for new and exciting things coming up from HeartSizedCrush and the ever talented and beautiful Angela Ryan...

So I decided to move my blog over to Blogger. It's a bit easier to navigate and feels user friendly. You will be able to still read back on previous entries if you wish. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier to publish updates and there are a TON of amazing things coming this way from HeartSizedCrush!

Thanks luvs,
